FT/PT Status: Regular Full Time
Days: MondayFriday
Hours: 40 hours
Responsibilities / Essential Functions: **This position is not open to outside services****
The Clinical Systems Specialist will support the EMR application and function through the development of drug formulary, regimen content creation and routine maintenance in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team, provide end user training, and continuous quality assurance of system content and end user optimization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Comprehensive understanding of all EMR functions for drug ordering and administration
  • Strong knowledge of oncology standards of practice
  • Ability to evaluate and incorporate algorithm requirements into EMR workflow
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex information for explanation or establishment of workflow process
  • Ability to overlay logic and a systemic approach to a decision process
  • Ability to follow, create and evaluate procedures and instructions for incorporation into systems and processes
  • Ability to conceptualize workflows and processes that align with desired information and outcomes
  • Proficiency in critical thinking skills for determination of root cause analysis in evaluating and solving system challenges
  • Maintain up to date clinical resources and references within the EMR
  • Engage and dialogue with physicians, pharmacists and nurses in EMR content creation and review
  • Ability to research and articulate information for clinical applications
  • Routinely monitor guidelines, pathways and FDA activity for new information
  • Incorporated new information into all systems and resources in a timely manner
  • Maintain policy and procedures for regimen build standards
  • Demonstrate clear and concise communication skills across a range of stakeholders
  • Delivery of ideas and/or information verbally, written or in presentation format
  • Ability to engage and train on system applications and use
  • Interdepartmental liaison for all EMR related information
  • Maintain professional competency through routine staffing assignments averaging 1 day/week
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Ability to prioritize activities and accomplish tasks a timely manner
• Self motivated and self learner• Ability to master basic math skills
  • Demonstrate both strong individual performance ability to work within a team
• Strong analytical skills• Ability to establish dialogue that facilitates cooperative and productive information transfer
  • Communication skills in professional speaking, presenting, and writing
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Qualifications & Requirements: • Minimum three years experience oncology experience
  • Current TN or compact state RN license
  • Minimum one year RN experience
  • Current ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card
  • Current TO approved BLS provider card
  • Oncology certification
Physical Requirements: • Ability to travel independently and to access information from other departments
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, kneel, couch, crawl and stoop
  • Ability to operate an automobile for travel to all clinic locations
