    Duties Summary

    This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer.     Responsibilities
    • You will plan, organize, and perform work required to ensure proper customer service and compliance with appropriate mandates of local and higher authority directives.
    • You will monitor the privatized operating agreements, perform Quality Assurance inspections, conduct on-site walk through inspections of homes, and conduct condition assessments within neighborhoods to ensure conditions meet established criteria.
    • You will ensure community relations are maintained, mediate and resolve resident complaints, and assist in investigation of discrimination in housing complaints arriving from landlord tenant disputes.

    • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

    • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
    • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
    • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
    • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
    • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
    • A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 10.28% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
    Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting housing facility inspections and identifying deficiencies; 2) Interpreting, explaining and applying technical requirements and specifications to quality problems encountered in such activities as audits, facility inspections, or investigations; and 3) Preparing reports and point papers that include information relative to data collection, analysis and recommendation for action.

    The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
    master's or equivalent graduate degree

    OR

    2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

    OR

    LL.B. or J.D., if related
    OR
    A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent. Additional information

    This announcement uses the Installation Military Housing Office direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
    Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.
    This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
    A 40 hour work week is typical for this position.
    Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires.
    A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
    This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
    Several vacancies may be filled.

    Physical Demands:
    The work is primarily sedentary and no special demands are required in its performance. However, the work involves some walking, climbing, standing, bending, carrying, and driving a motor vehicle.
    Work Environment:
    Office work involves normal risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices and meeting and training rooms. The office work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Work also involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, (e.g., exposure to bodily wastes and unsanitary conditions).
