The OSP workforce is comprised of more than 1,400 sworn and professional staff in the areas of patrol, criminal investigation, forensic services, medical examiner, state fire marshal, gaming regulation, fish and wildlife regulation, public safety communications, and information management with a biennial budget of approximately $500 million total funds. This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Manage all internal auditing functions in order to create a systematic approach for evaluating and improving operational risk management, internal controls and quality performance; work across internal Division lines in order to review compliance, recommend and monitor improvements.

To Qualify:

You must submit a resume demonstrating your experience as it relates to the minimum qualifications, general knowledge, and requested skills. Minimum Qualifications:

6 years of experience performing professional level auditing, investigations, compliance, policy/program, or work closely related to the agency mission

A Bachelor’s degree in business-related field such as business or public administration, finance, economics, computer science, accounting; or a field specific to the Agency's mission. AND

3 years of experience performing professional level auditing, investigations, compliance, policy/program, or work closely related to the agency mission

Preferred Skills:

  • A broad background in areas such as Auditing, Accounting, Payroll, and Tax.
  • Self-initiative with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to conduct research; identify root cause and effect relationships.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Independent, objective, and reasonable in audit practices.
  • Good communication skills and feel comfortable speaking to all levels of management and staff, and should be able to articulate findings and recommendations in both written and verbal communication.
  • The preferred candidate should possess one of the following CIA, CPA or CGAP is another auditing.
