Job Summary
This position performs skilled, semi-skilled, technical and manual labor involving equipment preventative maintenance; process operations of water and wastewater treatment facilities and other utility facilities.
Job Responsibilities
100.00%Treatment/Utility Operator activities includes the use of computer technology, sampling and laboratory analysis, operation of heavy equipment and vehicles, plant equipment, and field equipment. This position requires rotating shift work, on call, and emergency response. Qualifications
QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required. Training in water/wastewater treatment operations (or equivalent knowledge of biology, chemistry or related field), mechanical systems, or equipment maintenance preferred. Although no experience is required, preferred candidate will have one to two years of responsible experience in water and wastewater operation as well as basic knowledge of mathematic principles and computer-controlled systems.The successful candidate must pass the City background check post-offer City physical and drug screen.
