We go above and beyond on jobs to get the job done right, on time and on budget. We are seeking a superintendent to join our team who has similar values and looking for long-term growth.
The superintendent will manage excavation projects in and around Big Sky Montana. They will provide on-site coordination of residential and commercial jobs including managing operators, materials, equipment, quality control, and job site safety. The Superintendent will be responsible for and will be held accountable for the timely completion of the project and ensure the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes.
Schedule operators, laborers, subcontractors and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
Perform job progress and completion punch list.
Identify conflicts and/or change orders in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
Be able to manage multiple job sites, simultaneously.
Lead weekly team meetings designed to coordinate the work and provide safety training.
Ensure the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
Approve and ensure operator’s timesheets are accurate and complete on a weekly basis.
Code and submit receipts to Office Manager. Review and approve vendor billing.
Identify and correct any non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
Manage and report any work-related injuries in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.
Meet and communicate with general contractors and builders throughout the project.
Assist in hiring sub-tier employees.
Be able to jump in and assist operators and laborers when needed to complete the job.

Must have a clean driving record and able to travel to jobsites.
Be available to work long hours during summer months.
Physically lift up to 100 lbs.
Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of ten years of verifiable experience, thorough knowledge of trades. Experience in all areas of civil construction including residential and commercial foundations, utilities, septic systems, and road construction. Office experience of Microsoft office (Excel, word, project & Outlook) is also preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
