The mission of is to provide quality diagnostic laboratory services to improve health outcomes within the communities we serve.
CompuNet takes pride in providing quality diagnostic laboratory services to improve health outcomes within the communities we serve.
This position collects and prepares nasopharyngeal specimens and nasal swab specimens using medically approved techniques and processing protocols. This position communicates in a courteous and efficient manner, demonstrating positive customer service skills.
Will be actively swabbing patients suspected of having the Flu and/or Covid-19. On the job training available.
Full Time Day Shift
$12-$14/hr to start
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Is trained, proficient, courteous and regularly collects nasopharyngeal swabs and/or nasal swab specimens from patients of all ages. Assist with problem-solving as related to patient draws, orders, and specimens.
Complete electronic and manual requisitions accurately following all Patient Services procedures/policies. Ensure billing information is complete and correct.
Follow proper procedures for patient identification and specimen handling. Accurately label and prepare specimens for instrument ready testing. Organize and expedite the flow of orders and specimens.
Ensure proper handling of specimens to include: spun and/or processed per the Directory of Service; Specimen Receipt functions in Sunquest 8.1; Specimen Decant functions in Sunquest 8.1; Specimens stored at the proper temperature per the Directory of Service
Prepare Specimen Batches in Sunquest 8.1 for transport to testing locations
Operate and maintain relevant departmental equipment.
Perform regular inventory checks and stock work area with supplies
Assist in training new employees, when requested
Follow regulatory requirements, corporate integrity standards and all departmental policies and procedures, including universal precautions, isolation and sharps/bio hazard waste disposal.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
Some medical education or experience is necessary
Prefer phlebotomy, medical assisting, medical office, or laboratory science background
Some travel may be required (greater Dayton area)
May be working outdoors at times

Will have exposure to bio hazard substances and hazardous chemicals
Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company.
Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other bio hazard areas.
Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.
