Under close supervision incumbents perform simple duties of a routine nature in a teaching or research laboratory. Assists graduate student researcher in their research using genetic, cellular, neural network, and behavioral assays to investigate the protein cytochromes mechanisms of actions as well as its role in neural network responses to light cues. Quantitative analysis of these assays will be a key duty as well. Additional duties include general lab maintenance tasks such as flipping/dumping fly vials, cleaning vials, and preparing basic media.
Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge's and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
