Works under the supervision of the Quality/Patient Safety Director/Manager. Performs secretarial duties for Quality Patient Safety and Risk Management, Utilization Review, Case Management, Chronic Care Management, Process Improvement and Care Management. Performs other duties as assigned.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Performs a variety of highly responsible and confidential administrative support functions using independent judgement and personal initiative.
Performs general clerical and secretarial duties for Quality/Patient Safety and Risk Management, Utilization Review, Case Management, Chronic Care Management, Process Improvement and Care Management.
Provides back-up support for executive leadership (administration) when asked. .
Must be detail-oriented and possess outstanding administrative and organizational skills, professional telephone skills and a strong customer service mindset and style.
Maintains confidentiality and exercises solid judgment. Has the ability to communicate with people at all levels using courtesy and discretion.
Works independently and manages workload with minimal supervision and with a positive attitude.
Willing to work extended hours to complete tasks, adhere to deadlines.
Schedules and prepares appropriate documents for meetings, records and transcribes minutes of meetings.
Helps assist with the maintenance of Policy Manager
Helps assist with insurance renewals.
Will assist with the gathering of documents and acting as a point person for Directors/Managers/Supervisors when accreditors are present in our organization.
Coordinates the completion of special projects.
Follows Hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Attends departmental meetings and in-services as required by department.
Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/ or financial practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: High school graduate.
Experience: Minimum of two years of executive level secretarial experience. Advanced computer skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to type 60/wpm with minimal errors. Must be able to operate computer, printer, FAX machine, adding machine, telephone system, typewriter, and copy machine.
Interpersonal Skills: Skills to personally interact with the public, medical staff, and hospital staff and outside agencies.
Essential Physical Requirements: Requires sitting for long periods of time, lifting, standing, stooping and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds
Essential Mental Abilities: Ability to edit, proofread and compose written materials, to organize and prioritize workload, and learn new software programs. Requires completion of tasks under deadlines and exposure to stressful situations.
Essential Sensory Requirements: Ability to read, write and speak the English language clearly.
Exposure to Hazards: OSHA CATEGORY III. Identified job duties do not have any anticipation for contact with blood, contaminated body fluids or tissues.
Hours of Work: Normal business hours Monday through Friday; occasional evenings and weekends.
