Full Description :

Work is assigned and supervised by the Executive Director of the . Intern will work closely with the administrative team to execute a season of productions at the Music & Arts Center and the Barbara B Mann Performance Center. Given the nature of non-profit work, the candidate must have a passion for public sector service and live event production. An ideal candidate will want to gain experience in managing the artistic aspects of live events. Assignments are expected to be carried out under limited supervision within the office or remotely, therefore only candidates with sound judgment, time management skills, and internal motivation should apply.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Update Databases
  • Create and distribute rehearsal/performance schedules
  • Assist with Music Library Inventory
  • Setup for orchestra rehearsals
  • Provide operational and administrative support as needed
    • Attend staff meetings as needed

Qualifications / Education:

The best candidate will be chosen from a pool of currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who can demonstrate that they seek to gain hands-on experience in arts management. They will demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to clearly communicate in person, on the telephone and in writing. Successful candidates will be familiar with symphonic, pops, and opera music.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 hours a week spent in the office.
  • Submittal of all work assignments within determined deadlines.

Compensation:

$100/week stipend paid for the duration of the internship.
