Full Description :
This is semi-skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of small engines, automotive and heavy-duty equipment. Incumbents are responsible for the performance of skilled mechanical tasks and minor diagnostic evaluation in the repair of light automotive, heavy duty, and support equipment. Supervision is received from a higher level Equipment Repairer manager or administrative superior. Examples of Work:
Examples of work performed in this classification include, but are not limited to, the following:
Overhauls and repairs small engines, disassembles engines, replaces defective parts, reassembles engines, and makes adjustments and repairs to electrical and fuel systems. Performs routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs (wear parts, etc.) on light automotive and heavy equipment in the shop and the field. Performs repair work in repairing hydraulic systems such as overhaul, replacement and operations checks of hydraulic lines and hoses. Preforms repair work on track systems including making all adjustments necessary.
Makes minor non safety related welds with a sick or wire welder on Steel.
Replaces normal wear parts on all transmissions, drivelines and rear ends (manual and automatic; for vehicles, construction, and maintenance equipment)
Maintains and appropriately reports a variety of records relating to work orders, monthly time reports, and purchase of supplies and repair parts. Enters data into Equipment management computer system.
Makes repairs and replacements of tires including balancing. Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications:

Five (5) years of any combination of vocational training or experience related to the described duties; AND
Driver's License Requirement:
Employee must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 monthsof hire or promotion; Essential Functions:
