Position Summary Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer develops, qualifies, and documents test processes for electronic assemblies and systems to ensure internal quality standards are met and maintained. This position is responsible to ensure test processes are capable, reliable, and optimal.
The Test Engineer must be able to lead Test Engineering Technicians through continuous improvement ideologies. This position is expected to fulfill duties and consistently find solutions to rising problems. The position requires engaging operators in conversation to investigate problems, develop a solution and independently act on resolving testing issues in the manufacturing environment. It is important that the Test Engineer understands the importance of integrity in every decision to ensure that quality is never sacrificed. All employees are expected to embrace and adhere to the Safety and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) policies and practices.
Essential Job Functions:

Works closely with design engineering to develop automated product test processes. Uses functional ATE system software and hardware to develop interfaces with product firmware and hardware.
Considers human factors including visual inspection accuracy; fixturing ergonomics and safety. Ensures technical instructions and presentations to employees at all levels in the company are easily understood and easily followed for optimal adherence.
Develops calibration processes and procedures.
Effectively balances the decision making process between test defect coverage and production throughput while developing test processes.
Exhibits the wherewithal to handle technical challenges, product time to market demands, while performing with the utmost integrity.
Logical and creative in the design and problem solving aspect of the job.
Finds solutions to complex technical issues in a fast paced environment using Root Cause and Pareto analysis.
Resolves line-down situations in the production environment.
Follows basic engineering lab documentation practices, while having a strong knowledge in workmanship standards.
Must adhere to the Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and Manufacturing Safety policies.
Fundamental knowledge in electronic hardware and software engineering.
Demonstrates hardware and software knowledge of limited product families as well as knowledge on limited ATE platforms. Performs Test Software conversion between ATE platforms.
Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a combination of High School diploma or GED with work-related experience.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent oral and written communication in English, organizational, analytical, and anticipatory skills to effectively interface with all levels of management and staff, customers and outside business contacts.
Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize while multi-tasking.
Ability to work and function independently in a team environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
TE I and II position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities; however, position is expected to work closely with and delegate work to Test Engineering Technicians and Specialists.
Tools and Equipment Necessary
Magnifying devices, measuring tools, and electronic test and calibration equipment
Use of general hand tools
Required Licenses, Certificates or Knowledge
Knowledgeable in high level software languages such as, GEOTest ATEasy, National Instruments Lab View and TestStand
Knowledgeable in analog and digital circuitry, used in industrial controls
Knowledgeable in analog calibration disciplines of electronic hardware
Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint) Sharepoint, Internet Explorer and Outlook.
