The successful candidate will be expected to contribute primarily to the patient care and teaching missions of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, while participating in collaborative research and other scholarly activities. In addition, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to the didactic and laboratory education of pre-clinical students. The successful applicant will be assigned to after-hours emergency services on a rotational basis with other faculty members.

The Food Animal facilities in the VMTH include 3 hydraulic chutes (2 tilt chutes), a hydraulic tilt table and an obstetrical working area. Food animal specific standing and recumbent surgical suites are also available within the Food Animal working area. There are multiple diagnostic imaging modalities available, including digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, CT, and MRI. The service is supported by 4 technicians dedicated to the Food Animal Hospital.

Food Animal Field Services has two new trucks fully equipped with refrigerators, inverters, biosecurity kits and all other tools necessary to practice state-of-the-art ambulatory food animal medicine.
