Position Overview: Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with . Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management.
The Central Sterile Processing Coordinator maintains appropriate levels of sterile supplies, equipment and instruments, to ensure to efficient flow of the daily surgical schedule. This position will cover other positions in the OR Department as needed, typically Purchasing and Surgery Attendant. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Technical training to include aseptic technique and sterile processing is required.
CST State Certification required or must obtain before the end of the 1st year of employment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Must have significant clinical experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery facility in a central Sterile technician position, processing sterile supplies and instruments. This level of experience is typically acquired in approximately three years.
Must have extensive knowledge of instrumentation and equipment required for multiple specialties.
Must have an excellent understanding of infection control processes.
Must be knowledgeable in the appropriate manner to sterilize specific items.
Requires the ability to communicate well with other healthcare professionals as well as the lay persons.
Must have the ability to operate C/S equipment; ultrasonic, washer decontaminators, autoclaves, and other sterilizing equipment.
Must have the ability to operate Endoscopy equipment for sterilization
Computer skills are required.
