The Housekeeping Supervisor is a key individual in achieving the cleanliness goals and quality standards of all areas in the housekeeping department. They must impact all elements of the department from standards of cleanliness and associate morale to budgetary goals and interdepartmental relations. We are looking for a bright, team and detail oriented person to join our hotel family.
Job Requirements:
Bend, stoop, stand, and walk long distances for the duration of the shift
Be able to lift 50 lbs
Be able to push/pull carts that weight up to 400 lbs
Must be reliable; willing to work AM & PM hours, weekends and holidays
Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written, Spanish fluency preferred
Ability to use the property management system and Microsoft excel/Word
Able to use different types of chemicals.
Requires the ability to manage different personalities in a high stress environment
Job Functions:
Support the overseeing daily operations of the Housekeeping Department
Ensure excellent cleanliness standards are met in guest rooms and public spaces
Actively participate in staff management meetings
Give immediate response to all guest problems and correspondence
Support Housekeeping Manager to coach, council, and mentor associates in the department to achieve goals
Have a working knowledge of all housekeeping cleaning equipment, chemicals, and preventive maintenance programs for such machines
Responsible for training all associates on proper usage and handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals
To establish a high degree of excellence in the Housekeeping Department
Supervise a team of 10-20
Work closely with other departments, such as Engineering and the Front Desk to ensure guest
satisfaction
Attend hotel required meetings
Ensure expenses do not surpass budgetary controls
Complete weekly supply purchasing
Complete quarterly inventory
Ensure brand standard requirements are being met
Monitor, respond to, and report on guest scores and comments
Review out-of-order rooms daily and ensure room type availability for arriving guests
Adhere to and enforce rules and policies of the department and hotel
Ensure proper key controls are in effect
Take accurate linen inventory
Communicate with engineering to ensure needed projects are being completed by monitoring inventory
Ensure all uniform room expectations are being met
Ensure Lost & found articles are stored properly and logs are maintained.
Abide by all FMLA and ADA laws
NOTICE:
The Grand River Hotel functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. You as an Manager must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift, as business demands.
