Mission of the Role: The Academic Assistant supports Point Hospitality Group?s Mission, Values and Goals. The Academic Assistant will support the Academic Lead in monitoring the children and help implement all programs, lessons, and activities set in place for the Study & Sports Club. The primary job is to ensure the safety and security of all children while in the Study & Sports Club. To ensure success you will have the ability to form interpersonal relationships with all your students and take an interest in their general well-being.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Computer knowledge in Windows environment as well as prior experience with various PMS and POS systems.
  • Proven ability to provide high quality customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task, works independently and with a team, and performs detail-oriented functions.
  • Professional and enthusiastic attitude. Ability to problem-solve, and make key decisions.
  • Availability to work some evenings, weekends and holidays as job dictates.

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-3 years experience working with children preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Current Mandated Reporter training certificate
  • Current AED, CPR, and First Aid certified
  • Ability to safely lift and hold children
  • Ability to setup play equipment and pick up toys
  • Must be able to communicate well with children
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with adult parent(s) required
  • Requires the ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Hearing sufficient to understand conversations, both in person and on the telephone, as well as zoom calls

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports Point Hospitality Group?s Mission, Values and Goals.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Safety and Emergency and as outlined in the company?s Policies and Procedures Manual, People and Culture Procedures and Employee Handbook.
  • Assists children in a defined area of the Health Club and Flamingo property.
  • Troubleshoot any problems that may arise during the Zoom calls.
  • Help students complete and problem solve their assignments.
  • Work with the Academic Lead to monitor the class schedule.
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment.
  • Ensure the classroom environment is safe and clean.
  • Oversee students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, and on camp.
  • Collaborate with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.
  • Document student progress and communicate with parents to keep them informed.
  • Organizes and participates in recreational activities, such as games.
  • Reads to children, and teaches them simple painting, drawing, crafts, and songs
  • Organizes and stores toys and materials to ensure order in Club area
  • Must portray a fun and energetic demeanor
  • Sanitizes toys, play equipment, and complete the daily cleaning checklist
  • Helps plan age appropriate activities on a weekly basis
  • Ensures that all necessary paperwork is completed as needed to include: accident reports, sign in sheets, weekly tally sheets, and opening and closing sheets
  • Attends all required staff meetings
  • Must be accountable for children at all times
  • Covers shifts as needed
  • Actively promote the program, and services.
  • Handle parents and children's questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Perform other tasks associated as necessary in order to achieve the financial performance and goals of the company.
  • Promote the company in industry related associations.

Internal: Front Desk Hosts, Health Club and Spa staff, FOM, Housekeeping, Executive Housekeeper, Reservations, Sales and Catering, Revenue Management, Food and Beverage, People and Culture, Accounting/Finance, Maintenance, Owner Representatives and Point Hospitality Group Home Office staff.

External: Health club and spa guests/ visitors, Hotel guests/visitors, main accounts, local and public authorities and vendors/suppliers.
