Desktop Technician I

Position Summary: Responsible for fixing and maintaining desktop computing environment for internal employees, maintains IT-related hardware inventory, and provides remote assistance through the telephone and Internet to guide end users as needed.
Your contribution to the team includes:
Perform Moves/Adds/Changes and regular maintenance activities for desktop/laptop computers, telephones, and printers. This includes installation of new equipment and replacement of inoperable equipment.
Install and maintain software on desktop computers including system patches.
Install and upgrade IT standard operating system on new and existing computers using standard process imaging.
Educate end users regarding computer and software operations, including basic “how to’s” and best practices (typically performed one on one during daily tasks).
Perform basic network troubleshooting and diagnosis of connectivity issues – including cabling, IP addressing and network drivers/settings – and communication with Network Technician for additional troubleshooting.
Update changes to current technical support documentation.
Use basic understanding of relevant IT Information Protection Policies to ensure compliance.
Manage IT inventory assets for both inbound and outbound equipment.
Must have’s you’ll need to be successful:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least 1-year basic computing experience or comparable training or demonstrated ability, experience with current Microsoft Desktop OS, IP Networking, computer hardware and PBX telephone systems required.
CompTIA IT Fundamentals required or equivalent
Proof of immunity to varicella, measles, mumps and rubella is a condition of employment. Prospective employees must provide proof at time of offer. If you know about the following it’s a plus:
CompTIA A+ or Microsoft MCP preferred
Wiring class EIA/TIA certified or equivalent
