Overview:

Sr. Program Specialist

We are seeking a Sr. Program Specialist with at least three years of office experience to help us fulfill our mission of helping people achieve education and workplace success. This is position is based at the ACT Headquarters in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Sr. Program Specialist will perform a variety of activities which support management of ACT’s global test center network, including supporting business processes to support standardized test administration and delivery (online and paper) of ACT assessments to customers. Perform specialized administrative and production tasks and assist in the general support of test administration functions for all programs as needed.
What you will be working on:
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain documentation of internal process functions and job-related procedures.
  • Conduct quality control steps to ensure accuracy of output and materials.
  • Create and maintain documentation of internal processes and job-related procedures and work with team leads and management on coordination of team processes as needed to help ensure uniform application of policies, procedures and processing/delivery schedules.
  • Communicate and escalate issues and problems, with suggested solutions, to leaders.
  • Provide phone coverage for seven Friday and Saturday ACT test dates and other test dates as assigned, including possible evening hours

  • Ability to adapt to and be flexible working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality in all aspects of work
  • Ability to take the initiative to understand and use-changing systems, technology, and processes
  • High school diploma required or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an office, clerical, administrative, and/or customer service environment
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment
  • Fluency with office productivity technology required, preferably with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Access and Outlook programs.

It’s a plus if you have:
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication/writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be collaborative with customers, partners, vendors and with team members across the organization
  • Ability to be self-directed and independently recognize and resolve issues
