The Receptionist provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, filing, scheduling pre-op appointments, assisting medical records and other assigned tasks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Answers and transfers telephone calls, resolves routine inquiries and takes appropriate messages.
  • Screens all incoming calls prior to transferring the call or taking a message.
  • Accurately files all necessary paperwork.
  • Prepares required paperwork for each admission and obtains signatures from the patient or the patient's family member.
  • Communicates with Nursing, Lab, Radiology, Surgery and all other departments on patients' arrival.
  • Enters patient's information and benefits in the medical billing software system.
  • Schedules all pre-op appointments in a timely manner and in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintains an accurate appointment book for all scheduled pre-ops.
  • Assists the medical records and scheduling department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.n.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1-year previous experience as a receptionist, preferably in the medical field.
  • Experience with admitting patients.
