What You Will Do:
Support Services – Emergency Staffing Pool
This is a Temporary – Per Diem/PRN position. $20/hr
In these unprecedented times, the is taking important steps to support our patients, community, and employees. In response to Governor Larry Hogan’s call for 6,000 new hospital beds to ensure Maryland is prepared and ready to treat a potential surge in patients with COVID-19, the has put together a staffing pool, the ONE UMMS Emergency Staffing Pool. This staffing pool will allow us to provide staffing resources to all UMMS member hospitals as well as the Federal Medical Station located at the Baltimore Convention Center and other pop-up medical care facilities in the surrounding area.
As a member of the Support Services Emergency Staffing Pool Team, you will provide a broad range of operational support in areas outside of direct patient care such as Food Services, Environmental Services, Guest Services and Clerical/Administrative support for your designated UMMS location(s). Responds to internal and external telephone calls, inquiries and visitors following established departmental procedures. Initiates or responds to correspondence and memoranda.
Serves as an administrative liaison internally and outside the organization regarding issues affecting departmental activities.
Greets, guides and provides information to patients, visitors and staff.
Coordinates the movement of supplies, equipment, nourishment, laboratory specimens, and other patient care and administrative materials to and from the unit in an appropriate and timely manner.
Provides support for special projects and assignments: researches, analyzes, and summarizes information and source materials for reports, as needed.
Provides clerical support activities (typing, filing, photocopying, mailing, errands, etc.), as needed.
Pulls and transports waste (hazardous and non-hazardous), cleans surfaces and floors.
Assist in food preparation
Assemble and serves and collects food trays.
Performs related duties as required.
What You Need to Be Successful:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), required.
One (1) year customer service experience, preferred.
