SUMMARY:

The Online New Accounts Representative I has intermediate knowledge on all products, services, loans, organizational policies and procedures. This position is responsible for providing a high level of quality service while cross-selling credit union products and services. This position will perform a variety of functions via telephone, email and by other means of communication to help facilitate the welcoming of new member’s to the credit union.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Initiate outbound welcome calls and/or email to new and potential members.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to recognize cross-sell opportunities.
  • Acts as back-up to Contact Center in support of operational goals.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision with latitude for objectivity and independent judgment.
  • Delivers personalized service that focuses on individual member needs.
  • Will be responsible for tracking and reporting of online applications and potential fraud.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on the needs of the credit union.
  • Ability to analyze, research and resolve medium to high complexity problems under moderate guidance of an Assistant Manager.
  • Develop knowledge and skills through formal training classes or on-the-job experience.
  • Serve as resource or Subject Matter Expert for team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as taking member phone calls when we are very busy or on a special project.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3-4 years of experience working in a customer service or support role
  • 2+ years of experience in outbound sales calling environment.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) and multiple software programs used to perform duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage internal and external member relationships
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Self-Starter

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Per the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, this is considered a sedentary position.

  • Frequent sitting (31-70%).
  • Occasional walking (11-30%).
  • Seldom standing (1-10%).
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. frequently, including negligible forces.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on a seldom basis.
  • Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions.
  • Work environment is indoors, in a clean office area.
