As an Intake Reimbursement Coordinator, you will verify insurance coverage for new patients; initiate authorizations if applicable; and create documentation required for billing.

A day in the life!

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Obtain new patient referral information from our Customers on a daily basis.
  • Verify insurance coverage for the therapy being prescribed from primary, secondary, or tertiary payers.
  • Confirm patient liability for the prescribed therapy.
  • Create patient liability documentation to ensure patient is aware of their financial obligation.
  • Initiate authorizations when required by individual payers.
  • Provide coverage information to customer within one hour of receipt of the initial referral.
  • Initiate new patient set-up in the system being utilized by the customer.
  • Create documentation required for payment as outlined in customer agreements.
  • Other reimbursement related tasks as identified.

Do you have what it takes?

Required Experience:

  • High School diploma required, Medical Billing Certification or some college education is a plus
  • A minimum of 2 years insurance verification, or healthcare billing and/or collections; or healthcare insurance claims processing experience. IV field experience a plus
  • Data entry experience, computer skills, Microsoft Office, Word, and spreadsheets desirable
  • Must have good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow through
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Math aptitude
  • Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibit excellent work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities
